Minority Leader in Parliament Hon. Osei-Kyei  Mensah- Bonsu has emphatically stated that parliament has not yet laid down any procedure towards the death of the Abuakwa North MP, who was stabbed at his residence last Tuesday, as today marks his one week celebration.

This is because a Member of Parliament since the day Ghana gained her independence has not faced such a gruesome murder as it happened in the case of J.B. Danquah-Adu.

According to him, the family is marking a private one week celebration in his hometown at Akyem Tafo in the Eastern Region but would be extended to the Greater Accra on Thursday, 18th February at a gathering ground around Police Hospital.

What is usually done when the house looses a member is to give a biography or tribute about the deceased a day before his final burial.

“For now I am convinced and persuaded that top security experts would engage in a thorough investigation. . . based on the briefings most of the security top experts have come in person to brief the house since the incident happened. Therefore I would urge Ghanaians to give them the breathing space and hope for a credible outcome,” he said in an interview with Kwame Nkrumah Atikese on Okay FM’s  ‘Ade akye Abia’programme.

He noted that until they (security) adhere to do something different in the future centrally to the issue at hand, I still see them credible and fair with much hope that they would let peace prevail.
