Asante Kotoko goalkeeper’s coach Samson Appiah has revealed that he is far from choosing his first choice goalkeeper ahead of the 2016 Ghana Premier League opener against Wafa on February 20 at Sogakope.

The Porcupine Warriors have in their midst last season’s first choice Eric Ofori Antwi but he will have to challenge new recruit Ernest Sowah, Felix Annan ,who returned from his successful loan deal with Wafa and youth goalkeeper Yaisu Kaisan.

“I cannot confirm any goalkeeper as of now for the starting role,” Appiah told Kotoko Portal.

“We have given all the goalkeepers their chance and I’m impressed with their output. I am sure any of the goalkeepers when tasked to man the post if the league starts can deliver,” he added.

Last season, Antwi played 20 games as they lost their title defence to regional rivals Ashantigold, with Joseph Addo and Isaac Amoako sharing the 10 remaining games. However, Addo has joined Aduana Stars permanently and Amoako has been ruled out of the season, after undergoing a successful operation following an interior cruciate ligament injury he suffered few months ago.
