Medeama midfielder Malik Akowuah believes his side’s Super Cup triumph over Ashantigold will serve as real boost ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup this year.
The Mauve and Yellows recorded an important 1-0 win over the miners to clinch their first trophy in the year.
New striker Bernard Ofori grabbed the match-winner with a sleek finish in the 87th minute to separate the two sides at the Accra sports stadium.
And versatile Malik Akowuah, who impressed heavily, is counting on their recent success to aid their campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.
“It’s indeed a real booster for us. We wanted to win this game and I’m glad we did,” he said
“We were mentally tough and played better and so we deserved to win.
“I am confident this will will spur us on ahead of the new season and more crucially the CAF Confederation Cup.
“We want to do well than we did the last time around.”
Akowuah has shown his versatility over the years and displayed sheer quality for the Tarkwa-based side at the Accra sports stadium.
