Vote For Change – Nana Tells Krobos

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has appealed to Krobos in the Eastern Region to vote massively for the party in both the presidential and the parliamentary elections to be held on November 7 this year.

Nana Addo underscored that listening to the concerns of the Krobos, it was clear that many were not satisfied with their current condition of living and appear to have lost hope in the ability of Ghana to offer a decent living condition to its citizens.

The NPP flagbearer made this remark when he joined mourners at the final funeral rites of the late Emmanuel Adjase, father of Robert Tetteyfio Adjase, convener of the pressure group “Disappointed NDC Youth Crossing Over To NPP,” at Krobo-Odumase on Saturday, February 6, 2015.

Speaking in the Ga language, the NPP standard bearer urged the people not to give up hope but have faith that with the right leadership pursuing the right policies, Ghana would return to the path of progress and prosperity.

Nana Akufo-Addo admonished all Krobos not to pay heed to those who, whenever elections are zeroing in, seek to create cracks among people along ethnic and political lines for electoral gains, stressing that “we are all Ghanaians and for that matter, one people.”

The popular “Wɔ ma chake mi” (“We shall effect a change”) slogan, which was introduced in the year 2000 to indicate the desire by Ghanaians for change, according to Nana Akufo-Addo, originated from the Krobos. He was therefore, delighted that the same slogan was being chanted by the mourners and residents of Krobo-Odumase.

Nana Addo gave the assurance that a government under his leadership would restore hope to Ghanaians as it would begin the process of rebuilding the country, stressing that “the change we are looking for in our lives will then come.”

Nana Akufo-Addo introduced the two parliamentary candidates for Lower Manya Krobo and Yilo Krobo constituencies – Samuel Nuertey Ayertey aka Teddy Brano and Joseph Tetteh – respectively to the constituents and entreated them to vote overwhelmingly for these candidates in the November polls.

Nana was accompanied by Freddie Blay, Acting NPP National Chairman; John Boadu, Acting NPP General Secretary; Alan Kyerematen, former presidential aspirant; Kinston Akomeng Kissi, the party’s Eastern Regional Chairman; Dr Samuel Yaw Annor, former Eastern Regional Chairman and Abraham Tetteh Sackey, Lower Manya Krobo Constituency Chairman.

The rest were Moses Tetteh, Chairman for Upper Manya Krobo; Richard K. Twum-Barimah, Chairman for Yilo Krobo and Francis Djetse Appertey, parliamentary candidate for Yilo Krobo.
