The Accra Regional police have finally apprehended a 23-year-old lady, Esther Enyornam Pekyi, who allegedly bolted after allegedly bathing her boyfriend with a substance suspected to be acid.

Esther reportedly went into hiding after committing the act in her house at Madina Rawlings Park area in Accra on June 25, 2015, after the victim allegedly announced the end to their amorous relationship.

She was arrested by plain-cloth police personnel upon a tip-off at the Dansoman Roundabout area on Saturday, February 6, 2016.

The victim, Eric Ohemeng, 26, who was then a              third-year student of Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), is partially deformed following alleged acid attack.

Reports available indicate that the victim now has his right eye totally blind and is also having a stiff neck as a result of the attack.

His genitals have also been affected as a result and needed support to undergo surgery in Germany.

Eric Ohemeng, who was in a relationship with Esther for five months, reportedly suffered the acid burns in the house of the girlfriend after a fierce fight over the separation.

Until her arrest, Esther was said to have gone into hiding in Togo, and at a point at Aflao in the Volta Region, and later moved to Kasoa in the Central Region.

She allegedly arranged to meet her deformed ex-lover for the first time after the act through a mobile conversation.

.

The police were immediately informed and so          plain-clothe police personnel grabbed her immediately she got down from a taxi with intent to meet her ex-lover.

She is currently assisting the police to investigate the matter.

It would be recalled that Eric Ohemeng suffered the acid bath last year when he announced the end to their months of love affair.

He was later admitted at the 37 Military Hospital for treatment and had already undergone five surgical operations.

A taxi driver who drove the two love birds from North Kaneshie to the Madina Rawlings Park area before the incident occurred said the suspect committed the act after a heated argument.

The driver, (name withheld) told the police that upon reaching Madina that fateful day, Eric allegedly directed him to drive to the house of Esther before continuing to his house.

Some minutes later, Esther allegedly came out to tell the driver to go and to return later for Eric.

The taxi driver went to work for some hours and when he returned, he met Eric lying helpless on the ground with the acid poured all over his face and chest.

Police investigations into the matter revealed that Esther on that fateful day went for the acid from an auto-electrician at Madina to either harm the boyfriend or drink it herself to end her life.
