Some unhappy workers of Accra-based Oman FM on Friday decided to go after radio/TV personality, Afia Schwarzenegger for attacking their boss, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
The unhappy presenters led by Natural Medicine campaigner, Oheneba Ntim Barimah and Drive Time Host, Ama Nhyira, ‘Silva Lady’ expressed disappointment in the insults directed at the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the station by the presenter of Okay FM’s Mid-morning show.
The controversial radio presenter on Thursday attacked the Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) for daring to insult President John Mahama, his borther, Ibrahim Mahama and his mother.
“I’m not saying Mahama is the best or worst president ever in the country but if you want to attack him, attack his governance but don’t accuse his mother and brother of selling drugs”.
She further questioned Kennedy Agyapong about the work he does aside politics. According to the peeved radio presenter, his Madina-based radio station, Oman FM has collapsed.
“Kennedy Agyapong, Ghanaians want me to ask you the kind of work you do. At times, we are not able to tell people the truth straight in their face. Kennedy Agyapong what work do you do? That radio station which has collapsed? The station which I cannot tune in even though I stay around Madina?”
The attacks led to a response by the NPP firebrand on Oman FM’s Burning Issues on Thursday Evening.
He among several things threatened to release naked pictures of the presenter on social media.
But the banter did not go down well with Oheneba, who appealed to the CEO of the Despite Group of Companies, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite to call the presenter to order and protect his brand which served as the standard for most radio stations in the country.
“Let me make this appeal to the Despite Group of Companies, you have set a standard, look at Afia Konadu, Kwame Sefa Kayi, Adwoa Yeboah Agyei, respectable people, Kwadwo Dickson, it is that standard that have made people to listen to every station in connection with Peace FM…don’t allow people to use your platform to do nonsense…,” he appealed.
Oheneba further urged the business magnate to never allow certain persons including Afia Schwarzenegger to in the name of seeking ‘cheap name’ collapse the brotherly love between them which led to Dr. Osei Kwame Despite spending one week in Assin Dompim when Kennedy Agyapong’s father passed away sometime last year.
Afia intervening in Political matters
The Researcher who was joined by other workers of the station including a security man who gave his name as Osei also advised Afia Schwarzenegger to stay away from the game of politics as according to them, politicians in Ghana belong to the same stock and are friends.
“Where from this, if Ken Agyapong has insulted President Mahama, are you the one to respond, politicians know the way they play, if you mistake that, you would be the third person… who dreamt Nana Addo would one day go to Nana Konadu and chat with her…what of Alhaji Bature and Ken Agyapong on Adom TV…?” he quizzed.
To him, it would be better for Despite Group of Companies CEO, ‘to put his foot down’ and help save his stations from embarrassment.
