News about Nana Aba’s move to GHOne TV will not come as a surprise to many as the speculation had been rife that was where she was headed after she tendered in her resignation letter at TV3 last year.

The bubbly presenter has found a new home at GHOne TV and from February 15, will be hosting a news and current affairs programme, State of Affairs.

Her move away from TV3, where she had spent over a decade and had risen to become the face of the station happened under dramatic circumstances.

It all began with what Nana Aba herself said was a prank after she posted photoshopped pictures of her on social media indicating she was at Old Trafford watching a Manchester United match.

She was outed by the owner of the pictures and there was huge public outcry against her. The controversy had a funny side to it as well.

Many people photoshopped her into many historical occurrences such as the birth of Jesus and even when former President Dr Kwame Nkrumah was giving his famous independence speech.

However, her bosses at TV3 did not really see the humour in the situation and in an unexpected move announced the indefinite suspension of its eloquent and hardworking presenter over the matter.

This also generated a lot of talk with opinions divided in favour of TV3 and Nana Aba. While some sympathised with her and appealed to TV3 to reinstate her, others also felt she deserved to be punished.

An online petition asking for Nana Aba to be brought back to the screens did not shake the management of TV3 who stuck to their decision until Nana Aba also shocked everyone with her resignation weeks later.

Nearly four months on, Nana Aba has joined the EIB Network, which owns GHOne TV, Starr FM, Kasapa FM among others.

She will be doing what she does best as she hosts State of Affairs and even before the show starts, many people are sure that it will be a success and Nana Aba will pull in a lot of viewers.
