Gospel musician, Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong better known as Great Ampong, says he is ready to support any political party whose policy will better the lots of Ghanaians and his children.
He says, although he said he is not a card bearing member of any political party, he will support the party which has good policies for the country.
Ampong, who was speaking to DJ Roar on Kessben FM in Kumasi said he lent his support to the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the 2012 presidential campaign because of it’s free SHS education policy.
In 2012, Great Ampong was part of a number of celebrities including highlife artistes Daddy Lumba and Kwabena Kwabena who threw their support behind the campaign of the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.
Using himself as example Great Ampong said, “the death of my father prevented me from attending secondary school and I believe that if there was such a policy in place at the time, I could have furthered my education.”
Great Ampong said he had no regret campaigning for Nana Addo as he did that on his own volition and it was free of charge.
He did not however, say if he would campaign for the NPP this year again, but added, ” I am not a card bearing member of any political party so I am free to campaign for any party I want.”
