The Adabraka police have apprehended a 25 year old man for allegedly stealing materials meant to be used for the Circle interchange construction project.

The suspect identified as Richmond Attah Akorsah Obrempong was arrested last Thursday dawn around 1:30am with 49 pieces of steel pins and quickly handed over to the Adabraka Police for questioning.

Police reports have revealed that various movable materials were being stolen on daily basis thus threatening the future of the project.

According to the police, workers at the site have complained that several     movable construction materials have become the target for thieves and other social miscreants on daily basis.

Items often stolen include steel pins, safety devices such as wood boards used for gaur ways, robber jays, crossing tapes among others.

According to the Adabraka police around 1:30 am Thursday dawn, the suspect Richamond Atta Akorsa Obrempong, was spotted leaving the project site with 49 pieces of steel pins.

An alarm raised attracted personnel from the Adabraka Police who were patrolling the area, to the scene and they arrested him.

Upon interrogation, suspect admitted stealing the steel pins from a container at the project site.

He confessed that he was going to sell the materials to any scrap metal dealer who was interested.

He, however, denied being responsible for the daily thievery at the project site, insisting that, that incident was his first ever operation.

Meanwhile, the Adabraka Police have intensified investigation into the development and would soon arraign Richmond Atta Akorsa Obrempong for court.
