Obaahemaa Kumi Yeboah Cursing Sir John Through Libation
Some queen mothers in the Brong-Ahafo Region believed to have been sponsored by the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, for the second time running, have demonstrated against her supposed detractors.
This time around they cursed former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie alias Sir John, and two other NPP Members of Parliament (MPs) for linking her (Lordina) to the micro finance scam that has robbed customers of their investments.
The Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North and Berekum East, Major (rtd) Derrick Oduro and Dr. Twum Nuamah respectively were also bashed for purportedly prying into their (queen mothers’) affairs.
Clad in red and black cloth with Schnapps bottles invoked curses on their targets for dragging the first lady and her husband into the fraud visited on the residents by the collapsed micro finance operators.
Drawn from all over the region especially, Dormaa Ahenkro and Nkoranza, the queenmothers poured libation , chant and called on their gods to kill Sir John or anybody who will speak against the first lady or try to link her to the troubled micro finance institution, DKM.
Even though the women claimed that they were angry, apparently the programme was coordinated by the regional NDC and district administration where GHC100 and piece of cloth were allegedly dashed to them.
DAILY GUIDE gathered that, the first press conference held a fortnight ago did not make the needed impact that is why they are doing it again.
The MCE for Kintampo, Justice Baffoe and NDC regional women’s organiser were the coordinators of the programme, with the patrons heavily induced with cash and goodies.
They danced to a locally hired brass band saying,’ they don’t want that short man ironically referring to Nana Akufo-Addo. But conspicuously missing from the so called Queenmothers Association of Brong Ahafo region were the queen mother of Sunyani Traditional Area, Nana Yaa Nyamaa II and the queenmother of Odumase One Traditional Area, Nana Abena Boatemaa who is also the president of National Association of queenmothers

Before the commencement of the press briefing, a supposed linguist of the queen mother of Sunyani, Akua Manu poured libation to the gods saying,’ Their eyes are red because one of their own, the first lady, who is also Sumpahemaa of Nkoranza is being accused wrongly of having link with DKM micro finance and so called on the gods to deal ruthlessly with anyone who will tarnish the name of the first lady.
Addressing some few press men, the Twafohemaa of Dormaa Traditional Area, Akosua Kumi Yeboah surrounded by her colleagues’ poured libation and cursed Sir John and Major Oduro.
According to Kumi, Lordina does not know anything about DKM but rather wanted to help people get their lost investment and people will not appreciate her effect but only want to tarnish her effect.
She accused Sir John for going on radio to say that they queenmothers of B/A do not have any business doing that was why they are following the first lady.
She asked Sir John to go back to the same radio station on which he made the allegation to retract his statement and apologize; otherwise the women folk will use their menstrual cycle to curse him.
According her, Sir John could not take care of his family and was sacked as the General Secretary of the NPP so has no business interfering in the affairs of B/A queen mothers.
They danced, wined and dinned. Later some of them told DAILY GUIDE they received GHC100 each in a white envelop, mobile phones and pieces of cloth.
