Ghana Black stars and defender, Rashid Sumaila has sent a damning warning to mallam Salia for perpetrating falsehood against him. Mallam Salia on Wednesday revealed Sumalia is responsible for the career-threatening injury that plagued fellow national team defender, Jerry Akaminko.
According to the fetish priest, Mallam Salia, Rashid had visited his deity to seek spiritual favour as the national team, the Black stars were preparing for FIFA world cup 2014. Salia revealed a leg-breaking injury meant for Rashid was re-directed towards Jerry Akaminko who was firm favourite to make the squad at the expense of the former Kotoko defender, Rashid Sumalia.
Speaking to Kumasi based Boss fm, the Quadsia SC defender, Rashid Sumalia has been defending his end of the accusation calling the mallam out to stop tanishing his image and hard earned reputation.
He said, “I have heard a whole lot of the lies he’s (mallam Salia) orchestrating and have nothing to say but leave everything to God. I was playing in South Africa and was focusing on my club winning the PSL title as we were on top of the log. I was not playing for Kotoko as Mallam Salia claims.”
“I only joined Kotoko later for a short stint and even then it was the AFCON competition that was at hand and not the world cup. Jerry is my brother and we have a strong bond that the man’s only focus is to destroy it but it won’t happen.”
“I am willing to swear with the Quran and my career to prove my innocence but I know how to handle and deal with him eventhough I believe in God to see me through his lies,” he added.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns versatile player has been speaking to numerous radio stations to clear his name as he believes the mallam’s sole aim is to destroy him.
