The 6th edition of the annual Happy FM and Lakeside Marina Park Family Fun Run event have been launched. The ceremony which was held at the lobby of the Silver Star Towers, was attended by Mr. Salah Kweku Kalmoni – Director of Lakeside Estates, Mr. Naveen – Head of Radio, Global Media Alliance Broadcast Company – (the mother company for Happy FM), members of the Ghanaian media, well as some participants from previous events.

The Lakeside Marina/Happy FM Family Fun Run is a family event held annually on the Independence Day, to encourage healthy living among Ghanaians. The event starts from 6am at the Lakeside Marina Park in Ashaley Botwey. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mercy Social Centre Orphanage at Lakeside Estates, Ashaley Botwey.

“This event has over the years brought families, friends and workers together to keep fit and to network and we are very glad as a company to be championing such a noble cause. The 6th edition of this event shows that it is getting interesting, bigger and many people are getting attracted to the benefits of being part of this family fun run. We promise a more exciting and different event come the 7th of March, 2016’’ Mr. Salah Kweku Kalmoni, Director of Lakeside Estate noted.

On his part the Head of Radio of Global Media Alliance Broadcast Company, the mother company of Happy FM, Naveen Singh, said, “As the number one sports station in the country, the health and fitness of families and the general public are our concern and therefore we are very glad to once again bring yet another exciting edition of this family fun run event.

We want to intensify awareness about the need for families to occasionally meet, exercise and engage in fun-filled activities in order to break the routine boredom of work. We therefore urge all families to pick up registration forms and participate in this worthy healthy and socially beneficial event.”

Registration for the approximately 6km run is open to the general public, with the option to register as a family, an individual, school team or a corporate CEO. Up for grabs include awards for the fastest man, fastest woman, fastest child aged 12 and below, fastest teenager, fastest runner over 50, fastest family, fastest CEO, and fastest school team.

Registration centers include the Lakeside Marina Park, Happy FM, Silver Star Tower, Global Cinemas, Weija and Global Media Alliance offices.
