Highly-rated Ghanaian youngster Gideon Jung has returned to Hamburg SV squad for Bundesliga derby clash with Bayern Munich on Friday.
Hamburg manager Bruno Labbadia named the 21-year-old in his 18-man squad for the game on Friday after recovering from a back injury and returning to training on Monday.
Jung travelled with the Dinosaurs for their mid-season training but his involvement was limited by injury problems.
Labbadia – the Hamburg boss, has fallen in love with Jung’s precocity and strong abilities in the middle of the pitch and has featured in most league games (9) than any other U21 player in the Hamburg squad.
Though Jung has been named in the squad for the game it is unclear whether he is going to be handed a starting role as the Dinosaurs seek to arrest their seven-game winless run.
Bayern dismantled Hamburg 5-0 in the last Bundesliga clash and Hamburg are winless against Bayern in their last 15 league games.
