Former Black Stars and Hearts of Oak legend Mohammed Polo has insisted that Black Star deputy coach Maxwell Konadu is currently the best local coach.

The 1978 African Cup of Nations winner believes that the recent exploits of the former Asante Kotoko trainer are his reason for naming him as the best local coach for now.

Konadu has been the deputy coach for the Black Stars since 2012 as he worked with Kwasi Appiah to qualify Ghana to her third consecutive World Cup in 2014.

Maxwell is currently the head coach of the Local Black Stars and an assistant to Israeli trainer Avram Grant who has been touted as one of the best coaches in the world.

Polo has thrown out his admiration for the talented tactician describing him as the best local coach.

“Maxwell Konadu is the best local coach for now because of the experience he has so far attained at club level and with the Black Stars. He is a coach who has both playing and tactical experience.

His exploits with Wa All Stars and Kumasi Asante Kotoko show that he is a great trainer.”

“He took the Local Black Stars to Libya in 2014 and won silver and I think he is showcasing what the local coaches can also do,” Polo told Ghanasoccernet.com.
