Organisers of the Kumawood Akoben Film Festival (KAFF) Awards slated for January 23, 2016 at the Golden Tulip Hotel have promised Ghanaian movie fans and stakeholders in the movie industry that this year’s edition will be historic.

The organizers again promised that the event will not only be a night of fun but one to remember.

This year’s KAFF Awards, according to the organizers, will bring together personalities in the creative arts industry to celebrate the achievements of the movie industry in Ghana, adding that the ceremony will be unique and extraordinary.

The event, which has over the years grown into the most anticipated annual event on the entertainment calendar, will also witness historic performances from some selected award winning music icons.

The chief executive officer (CEO) of Kumawood Multimedia, Samuel Darko, is hopeful that this year’s Kumawood Akoben Film Festival & Awards will be a memorable one for patrons and movie lovers across the country.

He noted that it is his expectation that the KAFF Awards would help encourage businessmen to invest in the movie industry in Ghana, adding that the annual awards, instituted some years ago, seeks to foster the development of the Ghanaian movie industry and also reward those in the industry who have excelled in their movie careers.

“The expectation this year is very high as we expect great hype and attendance at the event,” he said.
