Dr. Bawumia and other NPP bigwigs at the function
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has given the assurance that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will win this year’s elections and solve the unemployment problem which the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration has failed “woefully to tackle.”
He stated that Nana Akufo-Addo, the NPP presidential candidate, has what it takes to create employment in abundance for the energetic youth of the country whose future, the party’s vice presidential candidate noted, is in great jeopardy due to lack of employment opportunities.
“We shall create jobs for the people, notably the youth, who are the future leaders of this great country,” Dr. Bawumia noted, urging the electorate to vote for the NPP.
He gave the assurance that the party has antidotes to all other challenges that have reduced the standard of living of Ghanaians, insisting that the NPP only needs political power to save the country.
Dr. Bawumia, an economist of international repute, who was addressing party faithful during a fundraising ceremony organized by the Ashanti Regional branch of the NPP in Kumasi last Saturday, stated that help was on the way because the party would come to power.
According to him, Nana Akufo-Addo, when elected president, aside creating jobs, would restore the teacher and nursing trainee allowances, which have been scrapped by the NDC government.
.
He said the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the School Feeding Programme, which are on their knees due to non-payment of arrears to the service providers, would be strengthened under an NPP administration.
He stated that all the social intervention programmes introduced by the NPP government under President Kufuor, which are on the brink of collapse, would be revived when the NPP wins power again.
According to Dr Bawumia, an NPP government would support Ghanaian businesses so that they could make more profit and expand in order to create employment for most of the youth.
He predicted, “In 295 days we will have a new government in Ghana. Nana Akufo-Addo will be the next elected president by that time.”
He stressed that it is time for the leadership of the country to be changed noting that the NDC has plunged the country into immeasurable troubles.
“It is time for change. It is time for Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP,” Dr. Bawumia reiterated.
