Alhaji Raji GHALCAGHALCA chief Alhaji Raji

The president of Ghana League Clubs Association, Alhaji Raji has denied labelling Aduana Stars a village club during the finals of the maiden edition of the GHALCA Six invitational tournament in Sekondi.

According to the PRO of Aduana Stars, Akwasi Appiah Kubi, Alhaji Raji said:

“GHALCA never wanted Aduana Stars to win. Alhaji said Aduana Stars is a ‘village club’ and he won’t allow a club like Aduana Stars to win. Alhaji Raji (GHALCA president) said he will never let the cup go to Brong Ahafo. So the referee decided to give the cup to Kumasi Asante Kotoko because of what Raji said.”

But Alhaji has denied those comments.

He said: “I never said Aduana Stars is a village club neither did I say they don’t deserve to win the (GHALCA Six) Cup.

“Dormaa is my second home and can’t say that about the place. I call on the people of Dormaa not take such comments seriously because is not true.” He stated.

Alhaji Raji, however, rendered an unqualified apology to the people of Dormaa for the alleged comments.

“I know I never said Aduana Stars is a village club but if they insist I did, then what can I say. I am sorry.” He apologized.
