Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2016 Vice Presidential candidate of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has given the assurance that when elected into office in the 2016 general election, the NPP shall endeavor to build what he described as “a business and people friendly economy.”

“We (NPP) will build the most business and people friendly economy in Africa. We will restore teacher training and nursing training allowance,” he pledged.

This, Dr. Bawumia said, would be done with a sense of urgency in order to bring an end to the perennial sufferings of Ghanaians under the President John Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) Administration.

Dr. Bawumia said these while addressing supporters of the NPP at Bawjiase within the Awutu Senya West Constituency on Sunday.

The astute politician’s visit to the area was to help lend support to the parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Awutu Senya West Constituency within the Central Region, Nenyi George Andah, who organized a soccer gala dubbed: “the Awutu Senya West (A.S.W) Change Cup” at Bawjiase to help preach the message of regime change being propagated by the elephant family.

The finale of the gala which featured Liberty Professionals was won by Breman FC, with the Awutu Senya West select side placing second.

Trophies, medals and other sporting materials such as footballs, jerseys as well as cash prizes were given to the participating teams.

Addressing party supporters at the residence of Nenyi George Andah immediately he arrived in the town, Dr. Bawumia spoke bitterly about what he described as the “incompetence” of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC’s) administration in managing the country’s economy.

.

According to him, NDC under President John Mahama had only succeeded in collapsing the Ghanaian economy and creating numerous hardships for the citizenry despite the fact it (government) had borrowed huge sums of money over the last seven years to run the economy.

The NDC Administration, Dr. Bawumia said, had used about GH¢ 200 billion over the last seven years “but no job to show for the amount.”

“This government is an incompetent government,” he told the NPP supporters in the constituency who responded with resounding applause.

Dr. Bawumia explained with dismay the social intervention policies such as the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), School feeding programme, among others, created by the erstwhile Kuffour administration aimed at alleviating the plight of Ghanaians, which have been woefully destroyed by the Mahama regime overnight.

But the foregone notwithstanding, Dr. Bawumia told his cheerful audience that all was not lost.

He explained that all that was needed to be done was to vote massively for the NPP so that it can recapture power from the ‘non-performing’ Mahama administration in order to revive the economy to the delight of all Ghanaians.

Before the commencement of the games, Dr. Bawumia seized the opportunity to visit the zongos within Bawjiase township with large crowd of people from all walks of life following him as he exchanged pleasantries with his muslim brothers and sisters. He later observed the Islamic noon prayer at the Bawjiase central mosque.

Meanwhile, a member of the ruling NDC Government who once served as a District Chief Executive (DCE) for Awutu Senya between 1996-2000 under former President Jerry John Rawlings, Daniel Osardu, has joined the NPP.
