Alhaji Ali RajiGHALCA chief Alhaji Raji under fire

Former chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) J.Y Appiah has revealed exclusive to Happy FM that clubs in the Brong Ahafo region are withdrawing the membership from the association following disparaging remarks passed by Alhaji Ali Raji.

Alhaji Raji who is the current chairman for GHALCA is reported to have said the G6 trophy doesn’t have to go to a village when Aduana Stars were playing against Medeama.

“We the clubs in the Brong Ahafo have spoken to each other and have resolved to withdraw from GHALCA. How can you label those from the Brong Ahafo region as villagers? Then you go ahead to say how can others sit aloof while Aduana Stars take the G6 trophy to the village. This was confirmed to me by Albert Commey. GHALCA is an association so we are free to join and withdraw at any time.” J.Y Appiah told Happy FM.

Chief Executive Officer of Berekum Chelsea, Nana Kwame, has corroborated J.Y Appiah’s assertion by indicating that the club has already decided at the board level that they are withdrawing from GHALCA.

“The board of Chelsea has met and concluded that we are withdrawing from GHALCA following the denigrating comments passed by Alhaji Raji on those of us from the Brong Ahafo region. “ Nana Kwame said on Happy FM.

GHALCA chairman, Alhaji Raji is reported to have said it would be inappropriate if Aduana Stars should win the G6 tournament and take the trophy to the village.
