Asante Kotoko deputy head coach Michael Osei has praised the tactical organization of his team in their 1-0 win over Aduana Stars in the finals of the FirsTrust G6 tournament.

Kotoko will have goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi to thank after they gave away a penalty in the 2nd minute which experienced full back Godfred Saka failed to convert.

He pulled off a handful of brilliant saves during the course of the game to keep the Porcupine Warriors in contention.

Burkinabe import Halipha Sodogo stepped up early in the 2nd half to convert from the penalty spot after Amoh was hacked down inside the box.

Michael Osei revealed that a close game was anticipated following their monitoring of Aduana’s previous games and thus was pleased with the level of commitment shown.

“We knew this was going to be a very difficult game because they have a good team and we had also seen the two games that they had played.

“My guys did well by playing according to instructions so all I can say is congratulations for making this happen for us,” he revealed.

Kotoko emerged as winners of Group B after recording a 3-1 victory over Berekum Chelsea and a 1-1 draw against Ashanti Gold FC.
