Ghana international forward Abdul Majeed Waris scored for Lorient in their 2-2 stalemate with Stade Rennes on Saturday evening.
The 24-year-old forward doubled the lead for the Oranges with a fine strike in the 22nd minute after Benoit Costil parried Cheikh M’Bengue’s effort at the Roazhon Park.
This is after Fallou Diagne had netted past his own goalkeeper on four minutes.
But Philippe Montanier’s side hit back in what was proving to be an entertaining first-half as Ousmane Dembele reduced the deficit in the 35th minute with a neat finish before Jeremie Boga struck from outside the area six minutes later to make it 2-2.
Waris hit the woodwork in the second period before he was replaced in the 53rd minute.
The Ghana international has now scored four goals in ten league appearances.
