Woman Stops Ex-Husband’s Wedding

A Wedding ceremony which is expected to come on today, Saturday, between, Eric Adam Brown, a tailor, and his wife to be, Jackline Kodua Anderson at Emmaus Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Roman area, in Suhum in the Eastern Region has been called off after the man’s ex-wife Florence Ama Animah secured injunction from the Koforidua Circuit Court to stop the marriage.

According to the court, Florence Animah and her former husband, Eric Adam Brown have a pending divorce suit at the court and the court has not authorised Eric Brown to re-marry.

The news which spread like wildfire was the major news on every resident’s lips in the Suhum Municipality. Both families of the awaiting couple have gone stranded after the episode.

DAILY GUIDE gathered that, Brown and Ama Florence got married in 2004 and had a daughter, but Brown suspected his wife of extra marital affairs hence went to court and filed for divorce in 2008. Ama Florence was said to have demanded GHC6000 compensation which her former husband was not able to pay.

The ex- wife’s sister, Veronica Akosua told DAILY GUIDE that during the hullabaloo, Eric impregnated her sister again but rejected the pregnancy. She said her sister then sent the case to a pastor for arbitration but Eric failed to turn up so they decided to secure a court injunction to stop Eric from re- marrying since the divorce suit is still depending at the court.

Eric A dams Reactions

.

Eric Adam Brown debunked the allegations in a chat with DAILY GUIDE. He blamed his ex wife for preventing him to re-marry.

He pointed out that, “she was flirting around with another man and I later discovered at the Suhum Government Hospital that, she was having HIV/ AIDS virus and I filed for divorce which she did not agree to. Both families met on the issue, but her parents disagreed with me and the issue eventually turned chaotic’’.

“She later got pregnant with another man and brought it to me and I accepted it. I am now taking care of the new baby and my daughter, but she went to court to demand compensation but the court ordered since the marriage wasn’t registered at the court, there is nothing they could do, so we should rather go home and settle the matter. I have been giving them money every week since then but she is still threatening my life”.

“We came and her parents failed to settle the matter so I decide to stay away from her. Last week just as I was finalizing my plans to get a new wife, my pastor called me and told me that Florence had brought an injunction letter from court to stop the marriage. I am very worried about the issue, because it has cost me much to plan for the wedding,’’ he lamented.

DAILY GUIDE gathered that, the two families are expected to meet on the matter again on Monday.
