Asante Kotoko recorded their first win in the ongoing GHALCA G6 tournament after beating Berekum Chelsea 3-1 on Friday.

Kotoko are having a smooth preseason campaign were able to record an important win to keep their hopes of winning the competition alive.

Captain Amos Frimpong opened the scoring for the Porcupine Warriors after heading in from a superb cross from Eric Donkor.

Dauda Mohammed, however, increased the tally for Kotoko on the stroke of half-time after taking a calm finish having received a cross from Frank Sarfo Gyamfi.

Midfielder Asewomi Fumado, however, got a consolation for Chelsea after Kotoko had been reduced to 10-men following Theophilus Nyame unsporting behavior which saw him being sent off.

Substitute Kwame Boateng restored Kotoko’s lead by scoring his side’s third after coming on for Dauda Mohammed.

Coach David Duncan’s side are now top of Group B with 3 points and will now face Ashanti Gold in their finals Group game on Saturday.
