Asante Kotoko have confirmed their intended friendly against Al Ittihad has metamorphosed into a three-team tournament which involved Coton Sport FC.

The dethroned Ghana Premier League champions were originally invited by the Libyan club for a one-off friendly over the weekend.

This invitation has left the Kotoko management in a quagmire as they are faced with the decision to either ditch the GHALCA G6 tournament which kicks off on Thursday for their trip to the North African country.

Management member of the Kumasi-based club Edmund Ackah has now revealed the invitation for a friendly has been changed into a mini-friendly tournament involving three teams.

“Initially there was an invitation to have us play Ittihad Tripoli but just yesterday we have been informed that it is a tournament involving three teams,” he said.

“It is Kotoko, Ittihad and Coton Sport Garoua.

“Management is yet to take a definitive decision on whether we will indeed travel to honour this tournament.”

The Kotoko management are plotting splitting their new squad into two with one group competing in the G6 tournament while the other group will make the trip to Libya for the friendly tournament.
