Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan claims he is the most dedicated player in the National team.

Gyan has been criticized by football enthusiast for showing low commitment in the Black Stars team.

The Shanghai SIPG attacker has further been lambasted for his numerous penalties misses at the National team which has untimely led to his decision not to take any penalty kick for the Black Stars.

The former Sunderland striker in 2008 was close in announcing his retirement from the National team after receiving lots of bashings from football fans during the Cup of Nations in Ghana but for the intervention of ex-President John Agyekum Kuffour.

The 30-year-old could not help the Black Stars to make history as the first African country to qualify for the semifinals of the World Cup after missing a late penalty kick against Uruguay at the quarterfinals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

He further became a culprit when he missed a penalty kick against Zambia at the 2012 Cup of Nations in Gabon-Equatorial Guinea which prevented the team from progressing to the finals.

The former Al Ain goal poacher has shunned-off allegations leveled against him indicating he is the most devoted player in the Black Stars team.

“For me nobody has been dedicated in the national team more than me.

“In the World cup knock out stage against USA I was very sick, I was down with Malaria the doctor warned me not to go but I ignored him because I want to play for Ghana and in the game I scored the winning goal,” Gyan said.

Gyan currently holds the record as the highest scorer in the Black Stars team with 48 goals in 95 appearances.
