Getafe coach Fran Escriba has confirmed his interest in Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey.
Partey has been penciled down as one of the reinforcements for El Geta following imminent departure of Angel Lafita to Al Jazira and injury to Alvaro Medran
Speaking at a Press conference ahead of Monday’s trip to Sporting Gijon in La Liga, Escriba admitted he wanted to bring Partey to Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
“Of course [Thomas] is a player we like and have long followed,” the coach noted.
“He’s constantly growing, but the truth is that we’ve yet to sit down and agree a deal.”
Partey faces increased competition from new signings Matias Kranevitter and Augusto Fernandez but emerged as a catalyst in both of Atleti’s last two games.
