Goalkeeper’s trainer of the Black Satellites Najawu Issah has charged Richard Ofori to compete for the number one slot in the senior National team.

The ex RTU goalkeeper touted Ofori to blossom into one of the finest goalkeepers for the Black Stars.

Ofori held off competitions from domestic rivals to win the Best Goalkeeper at the end of the 2014/15 FCPPL season.

Issah Najawu commended Ofori for his dedication to duty and dared him to target the number one slot in the Black Stars if he is to reach the limits expected of him.

The Satellites goalkeeper’s trainer preached against complacency from the lanky shot stopper at the pyramidal stage of his career.

“Ofori is such a dedicated goalkeeper and has been blessed with natural height needed in modern day goalkeeping.

“He combines commitment with hard work and I dare say he is heading to the Black Stars number one position. He can reach there if he stays away from complacency.” The Satellites goalkeepers trainer revealed.

When quizzed on the most talented goalkeepers to have passed through his hands, He said, “it is difficult to just name five-goal keepers I have handled as a coach. Extremely difficult at the very least but I think Richard Ofori comes on top.

“If I am to rank them in order of talent and progress, then it has to be Richard Ofori, Lawrence Atti Ziggi, Robert Dabuo, Kwame Baah and Baba Musah. It is tight but I think Ofori just edged to the top”.

Richard Ofori joined Wa All Stars two and half seasons ago and has since blossomed into the finest safest pair of hands in the nation. The lanky shot-stopper has since featured for almost all the male national teams including a debut call-up to the Black Stars at home to Mauritius.
