Samia files nomination to contest CPP flagbearer slot

Former chairperson of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) Ms Samia Yabah Nkrumah has filed her nomination to contest the flagbearership slot of the party with a declaration that the CPP was the only party that could offer the best alternative to renew ways of managing Ghana’s economy.

“The two party system has failed and I believe we offer the best alternative to renew ways of managing our economy. We are the only party that clearly thinks that the conditions of the IMF are unsustainable,” Ms Nkrumah said.

The daughter of Ghana’s first President Dr Kwame Nkrumah said the CPP was the only party that can save Ghana from its economic woes.

She said she has already begun a nationwide tour ahead of the primaries on January 30 and 31.

“I believe I am the first to file. For us it’s a good time that we are ready, now I can devote the next few days to touching base with our constituencies.”

“The CPP is ready and we are looking forward to a very vigorous and active campaign where I am confident that we are going to convince the people of Ghana that its time…”
