Raja Casablanca defender Awal Mohammed a target for South African giants Kaizer Chiefs

Ghana international and Raja Casablanca defender Awal Mohammed is a surprise January transfer target for Kaizer Chiefs.

Awal enjoyed three successful seasons with now Kiazer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela at Maritzburg United where both enjoyed a working relationship.

Having endured a frustrating spell with Saudi Arabian side Al Shabab, the Ghanaian is back to his best in the Moroccan league with Raja Casablanca.

Kaizer Chief’s experienced defenders Eric Molomowanadou and Keegan Ritchie have all struggled for consistency this season and Steve Komphela is said to be contemplating bringing in Awal Mohammed who proved handy during his spell with the TEAM OF CHOICE.

Chief’s are 4th on the Premier Soccer League table after the first round of games.

Awal Mohammed was close to a move to Orlando Pirates last season but the move fell through at the last minute after player and club failed to agree on personal terms.

The Ghana international is one of the highest paid players in the Moroccan league with a monthly salary of $ 15,000 and it would take an outrageous sum to prize him away from his 3-year-deal with Raja Casablanca.
