Avram Grant heads to South Africa for COSAFA


The coach of the national football team of Ghana,avram Grant will be in South Africa to observe the local Black Stars team when they participate in the COSAFA Cup from May 17.

With the league on break and most of the top stars of the domestic league a part of the team that will represent Ghana as guests at the sub regional contest,Grant is expected to use the trip to observe the players at close range.

The President of the Ghana Football Association,Kwasi Nyantakyi confirmed to the media why the association felt it was important for Grant to be in South Africa.

‘The team will leave on the 14th [of May]. I think the tournament starts three days later,’ the Ghana FA boss stated on the local Black Stars’ participation at the COSAFA tournament.

‘Coach Avram Grant will join them. It shows the important he attaches to the team. They are the best from the local league.

‘We want to go there [South Africa] and make a good impact. We want to progress from there ahead of our Chan qualifiers.’

Grant recently returned from a scouting trip to the United States where he met up with David Accam,goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey and a host of other players in the MLS.
