Former Ghana President John Agyekum Kuffuor has paid glowing tribute to Asamoah Gyan, labeling him as a ‘legend’ for his immense contribution to the Black Stars.
Gyan, 30, is an iconic Ghanaian figure following his enviable goal scoring record for both club and country.
The Shanghai SIPG striker is simply a record breaker – after emerging as Ghana’s all-time scorer and remains Africa’s finest at the global stage with six goals.
He has also been hugely credited for his humanitarian gestures and the former Ghanaian leader, who has been an ardent follower of the ex-Sunderland hitman has showered praises on him.
‘I can decide to be over endowed by nature and obviously he (Gyan) has given a lot back,’ he said
‘Not only to Ghanaians but to the whole World as large, go to Britian, he has made himself a legend there, go to the Middle East, he is a legend, go to China now, Asamoah is a legend and he is also the captain of our Black Stars.
‘It isn’t everybody that have been endowed that’s give back but Asamoah definitely is given back not only through football but also Music, dancing, entertainment.
‘He just spreads happiness wherever he is and I bless and wish him a very happy and prosperous new year.”
Gyan’s career has been punctuated by dedication, commitment, discipline, criticism and controversy.
