It is twenty years and still a great show on boxing day at the conference centre. Arriving at the conference centre with cars parked everywhere was clearly an indication that the 1021 laugh and music event was going to be a fantastic and entertaining night.

The show started reasonably late for the Ghanaian standard with just a thirty-minute delay and in low speed, but with the MTN Hitmaker KIDi and Abena on stage, it was all the way magisterially managed by two fantastic MC’s, Foster Romanus and Gordons.

Funny Bone, Osama, OB, Accapella and Khemikal’s performances, alternating between the Ghanaian Comedians and their Nigerian counterparts created a kind of competition which resulted in a great entertainment and laugh night.

Great singers as well excited the crowd with an outstanding Becca and Bisa-Kdei in top showing. Becca, a leading performer capable of dragging the audience into an atmosphere of traditional and latest Afrobeats was completely in control of the stage showing her maturity in the craft and we will certainly see and hear more from her!

A compliment to Charter House who put together a good level of organisation and security for a massive event like this, but something was probably to be avoided; the MTN over branding, considering that it was a paid event not even too economical.

Not to mention a pathetic show of the MTN staff singing a traditional Christmas song wearing an MTN yellow Santa Claus hat; well unfortunately, the logic of business sometimes take over the elegance of the event.
