Former Ghana FA Executive Committee member Kudjoe Fianoo insists the era of securing boardroom points remains prevalent in world football.

Club officials in Ghana have been heavily criticized for trying to use provisions in the GFA statutes to secure boardroom points.

This practice has often been chastised as an outmoded feature that keeps drawing Ghana football back.

But Kudjoe Fianoo who is the attempted to profit from such practice with an AshantiGold protest against Asante Kotoko in the just ended Premier League season is adamant the practice forms part of the game.

“We have always been lambasted for taking boardroom points but this is not peculiar to only Ghana,” he said.

“A case under study is with the almighty Real Madrid. They played a game and later they were disqualified through the boardroom.

“So it is not as if it only happens in Ghana. That is not true.”

Hearts of Oak have recently had a protests against rivals Asante Kotoko in pursuit of boardroom points dismissed by the GFA Review Committee.
