The fiercely competitive radio landscape in Ghana is set to get even more exciting with news by Accra-based FM station RADIO XYZ that they have secured the services of the versatile broadcaster, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.
It is understood that Ampofo Ankrah would be in charge of revamping and injecting new zeal into sports events, content, marketing and strategy.
There had been speculations that the highly sought after 41-year-old would be making a return to either Joy FM or the new force in Ghana media, Excellence In Broadcasting (EIB).
However, Radio XYZ currently undergoing a total overhaul and rebranding under a board of investors beat off competition to seal a deal with the former BBC man who is expected to make an immediate impact.
A top insider of Radio XYZ confirmed that Ampofo Ankrah has been given a free hand to effect the necessary boost and change of image the station seeks to establish.
With this high profile capture, it is safe to say that XYZ has ambitions of becoming a credible voice in Ghana Broadcasting.
The multi-talented Ampofo Ankrah brings to the table one of Ghana’s rising sports beach soccer and a huge following among the youth.
