The Spokesperson for the Senior Staff Association of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is facing possible punishment after Board of the hospital accused him of gross misconduct and insubordination.

Charles Offei-Palm, led his colleagues last week to call for the dismissal of the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Gilbert Buckle.

At a press conference addressed by Charles Offei-Palm accused the CEO of mismanaging the hospital’s resources and disrespecting staff.

In a separate press conference, Board Members of the hospital denied all the allegations leveled against the CEO.

Board Chairman, Anthony Mawuli Sallah, told Joy News in an interview that “all the allegations have no foundation. They are baseless and are untrue.”

“I have not seen a speck of arrogance by the CEO,” he added.

He said the CEO has done a fantastic job within the period in which he took over and cannot be accused of any wrongdoing.

Just days after the press conference, Joy News intercepted a copy of a letter in which Charles Offei-Palm has been accused by the board of bypassing internal channels of grievance and resolution, among accusations.

The Board in the letter dated December 23, 2015 and addressed to Mr Offei-Palm also described his attitude as a “gross insubordination to the Board of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital”.

The Board also deems the behaviour of Mr Offei-Palm as one that intends to tarnish the corporate image of the facility and “bringing the name of the hospital into disrepute.”

Mr Offei-Palm has declined comment on the issue.
