Legend Mohammed Polo defiant he is suited for Black Stars coaching job

Ghana legend Mohammed Polo insists he has the requisite qualification to coach the Black Stars but has been overlooked for long.

Polo, nicknamed the dribbling magician because of his artistry and ingenuity on the ball, has been yearning for the national team coaching job.

Ironically, the former Ghana great is yet to do something monumental as a coach after a troubled spell in charge of Hearts of Oak two seasons ago.

But Polo is adamant and believes he is the right person to coach the senior national team.

‘It is long overdue, but I will wait for my time,’ he told Class Sports.

‘Some of us, who have so much experience and trying to become coaches, have seen it all and done it all, but we are not being given the opportunity.

‘We have played under a lot of coaches and learnt a lot on our own, so, I feel we have a lot to prove.

‘The young ones need our help, not only on the football field, but also off the field in order to become very good human beings.

He added: ‘What I used my feet to do with the ball, I would want Ghanaian players of this generation to replicate.’
