Ghana winger David Accam is hoping he can seal a switch to Stoke City in the January transfer window, claiming he impressed while training with the English Premier League side this week.
Ghana’s leading football news website, Ghanasoccernet.com exclusively revealed this week that the Chicago Fire trained with the Potter this week to keep fit.
Accam’s training with Stoke City sparked rumours of an imminent move for the Ghana striker.
He has also played a low-keyed internal friendly match for the Potters which heightened the talk of a possible switch for the Ghana star.
Now the Ghana winger who plays for the MLS side Chicago Fire says he was being observed by the coaching staff of the English Premier League club.
‘Our season was over and wanted to train with a team and was invited by the team (Stoke City),” Accam, the America-based winger said.
‘I was invited by the club since they were interested and coach Mark Hughes was impressed with my training.
“So let’s hope when the transfer window opens my dream is to join the likes of Jordan Ayew, Andre Ayew, Baba Rahman and the others.’
The 25-year-old has just completed his debut season in the Major League Soccer with Chicago Fire.
The former Helsingborg star however does not qualify for automatic work permit which makes a move even more difficult.
Chicago Fire will be interested in a loan deal to keep their striker fit and also to make some money off the side.
Accam joined Chicago Fire earlier this year and emerged one of their top performers by scoring 10 goals in 24 league appearances.
