Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda believes Lawrence Lartey possesses the right qualities to be a success in South Africa.
Lartey, 22, signed a three-year contract last month to join Ajax Cape Town.
The former Ghana U20 captain joined the Urban Warriors just months after leading AshantiGold to their first Premier League title in 19-years.
Former club playmate of Lartey, Fatau Dauda who also played under Roger De Sa during his time with Orlando Pirates feels the central defender has the qualities required to be a hit in South Africa.
‘Lawrence is a young and talented player who can excel in any league,’ Dauda told GHANAsoccernet.com.
‘He is a great personality off the field as well and an extremely disciplined character.
‘I know he will do very well because he was also signed by Roger De Sa.
‘He will do very well. All he has to do is to prove himself in training and in the games when given the opportunity.’
Ghanaian players have been unable to excel in the South African league in recent times.
This was after players such as Jonathan Mensah, Jonathan Quartey had made names for themselves in the PSL.
Edwin Gyimah appears to be the only Ghanaian in recent times to be doing the business in the South African top flight.
