Defender Alfred Nelson says he rejected Hearts of Oak for AshantiGold because the Miners showed they wanted him more.
The centre back-cum-midfielder has penned a two-year deal with the Ghanaian champions after returning from Kuwait.
He was linked with giants Hearts but decided to join the Obuasi-based.
Nelson said: ‘They [Hearts of Oak] did what they could but AshGold were pressing more,’ he said.
The local Black Stars defender is a perfect replacement for Lawrence Lartey who has joined South African Premier League side Ajax Cape Town.
