Ghana winger Christian Atsu joined some of his teammates at AFC Bournemouth in their visit to the Poole General Hospital to offer Christmas gifts to patients of their children’s ward.

Atsu joined by Cherries captain Tommy Elphick, Shaun MacDonald, Andrew Surman, Matt Ritchie and first team coach Simon Weatherstone to spread festive cheer at the children’s hospice in Corfe Mullen.

The players handed out Christmas presents and signed memorabilia for the children, who receive respite care from Julia’s House.

Among the fun activities during the visit were lively games of FIFA 16, an impromptu indoor kickabout and the chance to discuss the club’s debut season in the Premier League.

Atsu who is still working his way to full fitness towards making his first team debut at Bournemouth shared his delight at the visit to the hospital by posting a group picture with some of the patients on social media.

The Ghana winger is back at the club after undergoing treatment at his parent club, Chelsea.
