Black Stars captain and talisman, Asamoah Gyan has received several plaudits for the several sterling performances he keeps churning out for the national football side which have propelled him to become Ghana’s all-time top scorer with 48 goals as well as Africa’s all-time top scorer at the FIFA World Cup but his recent philanthropic projects are mind-boggling.

Over the year, the Shanghai SIPG lynchpin has doled out hundreds of dollars for some significant projects to be carried out as part of his social responsibility to the less privileged in society.

Details of Projects & Activities – 2015

As expected, the year began in earnest with the Wenchi Water Project. The project provided for a full rehabilitation of the Pump House that provides water to Wenchi and adjoining towns and communities. The total cost of the project was $50,000.

There were three(3) major events in June. Donations to the June 3rd Floods victims and two (2) others made to the Cardio Centre and Children’s Ward of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Children’s Hospital at Pampaso in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The Flood victims – Rice and Noodles of 200bags and paid bills for the Children’s Ward – 18,000GHC. Cardio Centre was $15,000 and the Pampaso Children’s hospital ward received a total makeover.

Provided two (2) 42″ Flat Screen TVs, beds and MUltiTV decoders for the two wards. We also painted the two wards and gave them mattresses, mosquito nets and changed their washrooms equipment.

The Foundation also made a major contribution towards the quest of winning gold at the AAG in Congo. Asamoah Gyan made a cash donation of $40,000. An initial cash donation of $10,000 in Congo and further $30,000.

In September, we also made a major contribution to the lives of the Suhum Ghana Blind Society. We provided them White Canes, Talking Watches, 80 bags of Rice and NHIS for the entire membership – 231.

There is also the Sod Cutting for the $178,000 Astro Turf Pitch for Accra Academy School.

The final project for the year is the Water Project at Hohoe St Francis Teacher Training School. The cost of the project is $30,000.

These projects and cost are exclusive of the several other investments in the area of providing educational support for the many brilliant but needy students in the country
