Asante Kotoko are set to terminate the contract of their Burkinabe international, Ahmed Toure for lack of commitment, a close management sources has revealed.

The decision of the club came as a result of Ahmed Toure not being committed to the course of the club ahead of the upcoming season.

Toure, 28, who has a year left on his two year contract with the Porcupine Warriors joined the Kumasi-based club last season after a controversial slip from archrivals Accra Hearts of Oak.

The Burkinabe ended up as the club’s top-scorer with 15 goals in all competition at the end of the 2014/15 league season.

The 28-year old attacker moved to Nejmeh FC in Lebanon with a few matches to end the Ghana League season but the deal failed to materialize after the Lebanese outfit failed to meet Asante Kotoko’s asking price.

Upon Toure’s return to Ghana last October, he gained a call up into the Burkina Faso national football team for their 2018 World Cup qualifier and since then he is yet to arrive in Ghana for Asante Kotoko’s pre-season.

‘We don’t know why he is not yet in Ghana. He was supposed to return to the country after the international break. But he is not here,’ the source said.

‘He has a year left on his contract and we are not pleased with his behavior because he is not committed to the course of the club in the upcoming season. So it will be better to part ways with him, ‘the source reveal.

Ahmed Toure ended his previous contract with the Porcupine Warriors on a sour note and is showing glimpses of repeating the same behavior.
