Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak Kenichi Yatsuhashi says he is aware the fans of the Phobian fraternity are frustrated after going trophyless for several seasons.

The Phobians’ abysmal performance last season compelled the board to sack Coach Herbert Addo with eight matches to end the season.

The former Premier League champions have gone trophyless for the past six seasons and narrowly escaped relegation last season as they finished the league at the 13th position.

The Japanese trainer who was a college coach before taking up the job of leading the Phobians insists that he admits the frustrations of the fan and hopes to make them happy when the season finally starts.

Speaking to America Soccer, the new Hearts of tactician said: ‘The Hearts of Oak fans have been very frustrated. They want to see Hearts of Oak winning the league and also the FA Cup.’

The Japanese trainer who is taking up his first job as the coach of a club and on the African continent admitted however that he is not sure whether the team can achieve that.

‘Whether we can achieve that in my first year, I really don’t know. I am trying my best.’

The Phobians arrived from a pre-season training tour in Libya ahead of the 2015/16 league season.
