Former Berekum Chelsea captain Abdul Basit has arrived in the Golden City on Friday December 18 ahead of a deal with the former Ghana champions, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Sources close to the Berekum-based club disclosed to GHANAsoccernet.com that the former captain arrived in the Golden City around 5:30pm on Friday.

Basit 26, is expected to sign a two year deal with the Berekum side by the close of work on Tuesday.

If the deal is finally sealed, Basit will be the third player to have joined the 2012 Ghana League champions to re-launch their career after Prince Bobby and Saddiq Adams signed two years each for the side a few days ago.

The ex-Berekum Chelsea captain Mohammed Abdul Basit joined Bahrain champions Muharraq early this year but had to terminate his contract for lack of playing time.

The talented offensive midfielder was staying in the Gulf after a successful campaign last season with Kuwaiti side Sulaibikhat but had to turn to his former club to re-launch his ailing career.
