GHALCA are ready to host a close to perfect FirsTrust G6 tournament at the Sekondi Stadium from 7-10 January.
The launch and the draw for the maiden edition of the competition was held in Takoradi last Thursday.
Also, the organizers outdoored headline sponsors FirsTrust Savings and Loans, deposit-taking non-banking financial institution.
Ghanaian league champions AshantiGold are in the Group of Death alongside Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea.
Group A consists of Hearts of Oak, FA Cup winners Medeama and Aduana Stars.
Tournament director John Ansah says he expects a blockbuster for the four-day tournament.
‘I expect this tournament to be one of the best because the launch itself speaks for itself and so we believe that we are going to work extra harder to make sure that we put in everything properly for the tournament,’ he said.
FirsTrust Savings and Loans hope their sponsorship will revive football corporate sponsorship.
Ama Amoah is the Head of Corporate and Elite Business for the saving and loans company.
She said: ‘We are coming on board because we believe in our own and to develop our country we need it to do it ourselves,’ she said during the launch in Takoradi
‘GHALCA has been in the system for quite a long time. We must say they have been doing well but sometimes financial constraints makes them not to do so much exploits so we decided to come on board so that this tournament will for once be different than what they had previously.
‘We also want to give hope and assurance to our own people that there are people who believe in them because when we watch the foreign leagues, I get enthused to see how Ghanaians are so involved watching all the clubs so why can’t we do something about our own.
‘We can only do this when we all come together to support GHALCA.’
