Aston Villa boss Remi Garde singles Jordan Ayew for praises after spectacular goal

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has praised Ghana forward Jordan Ayew for his glorious finish in his side’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on Saturday.

The 24-year-old showed class by scoring a ‘crazy’ stunner to steer Villa to a crucial away draw at the St James’ Park.

Villa had fallen to a 1-0 first-half setback after Argentine Fabricio Coloccini put the Magpies in the lead. But, Villa had to prove their fighting spirit and they proved it when Ayew dodged Daryl Janmaat, switched the ball to his right foot and curled a wonderful shot into the top corner from the edge of the area.

The previously slumbering forward has now scored four times in his last eight Premier League games and manager Garde showered praises on him.

“Jordan Ayew’s goal was brilliant. The work he did for the team was very good. A brilliant goal from a talented player,” the French gaffer said in a post-match interview.

Villa are still languishing in the drop zone and must fight above themselves to resurrect from the danger zone.
