As part of activities and leading to YFM’s annual Loud in GH, YFM, Ghana’s number one urban youth radio station, will be embarking on an intensive clean up exercise at the Labadi Beach on Friday 18th December, 2015.

In partnership with the Environmental Service Providers Association (ESPA), and the Planeteer Movement in Ghana, this clean up exercise will be mainly aimed at promoting healthy environmental practices and encouraging the public to keep our beaches and surroundings clean.

As a build up to the Loud In GH which comes off the very next day on Saturday December 19th, this intensive cleaning of the beach is meant to create a clean, healthy and conducive atmosphere for patrons who will be at the beach.

The exercise will also be used as an avenue to advocate for massive youth involvement in environmental cleanliness of our water bodies to help promote good health and generate more revenue for the country through tourism.

Commenting on the activity, Naomi Nelson, Head of Corporate Communications of Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company, the mother company of YFM, said, “In the typical, innovative Y fashion, we decided to add yet another twist to our event. This year, we decided to add more activities to the Loud In GH celebrations in order to reach and impact more people.

Therefore, not only is this year’s event going to be a day of fun-filled activities and amazing musical performances, but we are going to impact the lives of every single person who patronises the Labadi Beach by providing them with a clean, healthy environment within which to operate”. “We really appreciate the ESPA for partnering us by providing the necessary logistics to make this clean up a success”, Naomi continued.

Come Friday 18th December at exactly 9am in the morning, the Labadi Beach will HOST members of the Planeteers Movement in Ghana, personnel from ESPA, staff of YFM as well as some community members.

The general public is encouraged to listen to YFM 107.9 in Accra, 102.5 in Kumasi and 97.9 in Takoradi or check out www.yfmghana.com.
