Ghana-target Joseph Baffo scores against Stuttgart in Braunschweig German Cup exit

Ghanaian defender Joseph Baffo scored the opening goal for Eintracht Braunschweig when they suffered a 3-2 loss against VfL Stuttgart and got eliminated from the German Cup on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old central defender raced the Bundesliga II side into the lead with a powerful 6th minute but his side were unable to protect their lead as Stuttgart equalised and went ahead to win the game.

Baffo arrived in the box on time to finish off a Saulo Decarli connected effort which came off the Stuttgart crossbar.

While Baffo was scoring on the night, Black Stars defender Philemon Ofosu-Ayeh was also in action for Braunschweig on the night.

The game headed for extra-time after the regular time ended in a 2-2 draw. But Braunschweig were unable to hold on to the draw as Stuttgart won the tie.

Baffo has expressed interest in playing for Ghana despite representing Sweden at various youth levels including winning the Euro U21 Championship with the Scandinavian nation.
