Striker Emmanuel Banahene scored two as Ismaily triumphed 3-1 over promoted Ghazl El-Mahalla on Tuesday.
The Ghana international opened the scoring on 27 minutes with a header on a prosaic cross from winger Shikabala.
Substitute Karim El-Daw rifled home from the edge of the area to make it 2-0 with four minutes remaining.
Banahene completed the rout in stoppage time after some good individual work from compatriot Torric Jebrin.
El-Mahalla got a consolation from Ramadan Rabie.
