Ex-Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has given the clearest indication that he could be interested in returning to the national team, more than a year after being axed.

The 55-year-old was sacked last year after the country’s wrecked World Cup campaign in Brazil.

Appiah, who is the current head coach of Sudanese side Khartoum FC, has hinted he could return to the Black Stars in the not-too-distant future.

“Coaching is my profession so I will never stop coaching until my time is up,” he told Accra-based Starr FM.

“If it happens that I should be back, I will be back, nobody knows.”

The Black Stars coaching job has come under the spotlight after reports emerged last week that struggling English side Swansea City have been tracking current coach Avram Grant.

Grant has been strongly linked with a move to South Wales as a replacement for dismissed Garry Monk.
